Shree Dattajayanti, the most divine and sacred festival; is celebrated on the full moon day in the month of ‘Margashirsha’ (according to Marathi Calendar). The devotees (gurubhaktas) indeed feel honored and privileged to obtain a golden opportunity to perform all the religious rites under the loving care and guidance of Sadguru Shree Aniruddha Bapu.
Shree Aniruddha Bapu has unfolded before us (common people) the greatness and glory of Parabrahma, Parampurusha Shree Guru Dattatreya and revealed to us His infinite Gunas (Qualities) and attributes that manifest in the universe, in the most sacred book “Matruvatsalyavindanam”.
As narrated in this most revered book, our beloved Adimata Chandika (The Supreme Goddess), the epitome of pure unconditional love and strength bestowed on Shree Dattatatreya the task of the fourth age, Kaliyug,“Oh my dearest eldest son, Dattatatreya! You are the sole unparalleled, who is aware of the supreme God, Dattaguru, in all His attributes and manifestations. You have experienced my gross, subtle and supra-occular (taral, shukshma and sthula) in my Gayatri, Mahishasurmardini and Anasuya forms as my son. I am entrusting you with entire control and responsibility of the fourth age (Kaliyug) as You are one with Dattaguru and You are the son of Anusaya, who, in fact, is me in the form of Atri possessing my divine knowledge of 16 arts.”
The arrival of the son of Anusaya, Shree Guru Dattatreya has given immense satisfaction and joy to each and every devotee and has bestowed upon them the longing for the infinite, who is the Supreme Being.
Shree Aniruddha Upasana Foundation celebrates the auspicious occasion of Dattajayanti (birthday of Shree Guru Dattatreya) under the guidance of Sadguru Shree Aniruddha. The festival commences on the full moon day in the month of ‘Margashirsha’.
